Pogust Braslow & Millrood Receives Award for Plaintiffs' Law Firm of the Year, 2009
January 11, 2010

Conshohocken, PA (PRWEB) January 11, 2010 -- Pogust Braslow & Millrood (PBM) announces that it has been named one of the Plaintiffs' Product Liability Firms of the Year by the industry leading Law360 group. The award was given to PBM, recognizing it as one of the top firms of the year garnering “substantial verdicts against pharmaceutical heavyweights” and for setting “the stage in bellwether trials” and taking in “multi-million dollar verdicts for clients.”

Specifically recognized was PBM’s effort in the Kendall v. Wyeth case, in which PBM attorney Tobi Millrood spearheaded the effort resulting in a $34.3 million dollar verdict for Donna Kendall, who suffered breast cancer as a result of her ingestion of Wyeth’s and Pfizer’s hormone therapy drugs. The award statement noted that PBM “land a spot on Law360’s list of top product liability firms for their role in attaining million-dollar verdicts for women alleging that Pfizer’s popular menopause drugs Prempro and Provera caused them to develop breast cancer.” The case is Kendall v. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc., June 2004, No. 0965, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.

In accepting the award, PBM attorney Tobi Millrood was quoted, “We accept this award with great pride. Among a preeminent class of law firms nationwide who fight for victims injured as a result of corporate carelessness and greed, we are humbled to be singled out as being at the top of our field. We share this award with the brave women who have fought for years, while in the midst of their fight to survive from cancer, stroke and other catastrophic injuries from hormone therapy drugs, to fight against the Goliath corporations and hold them accountable for putting profits before safety.”

Firm partner Harris Pogust recalled 2009 as a successful year for the firm. “This award is a great honor to our firm because it recognizes the tireless work of our attorneys and staff in the important work we do in the areas of pharmaceutical products liability, catastrophic personal injury, consumer class actions and overtime compensation work. We’re proud to accept this award and look forward to continue to fight on behalf of consumers for years to come.”
